On Being a Dad
I have been a dad only since April 28, 2011. But in this brief time I have noticed that while there are all kinds of groups and resources for women, there are not as many for men. I would love to start a Meetup group for dads in the area. That said, I am hoping to get involved in the Meetup group in Lehigh Valley, which is not quite “the area” by which I mean Berks county, but it is the closest we have!
Since my wife is a teacher I spend my days, from 8-4, parenting. Let me say it again: I am not babysitting! Junia is my daughter, thus I parent. I am not sure if this makes me a “stay-at-home-dad” or not. I still work full-time with CSF. When Junia naps, which has become more regular finally, I am able to study and do other CSF work on the computer. I spend time on campus in the late afternoon and early evenings. It has been a blessing to be able to take care of Junia during the day.
One cool website I have found is Babble.
